Technical Instructor

Matt has been in the training industry since 2009 and has worked across customer service, management, real estate and computer training avenues. Before joining New Horizons, Matt was responsible for over 50 employees in training programs in various locations.

He has spent most of his adult life working closely with both people and computers. His range of experience has provided him with classroom examples that are relevant and applicable to his students. His outgoing nature and confidence in public speaking opened the door for training opportunities.

Matt approaches his classes with high energy and a positive attitude to help create a comfortable and fun environment for students.

Outside of the classroom Matt is an aspiring writer working on a Sci-Fi novel and several screenplays.

“I try to engage my students by asking questions that are open ended or experience based to generate feedback without anyone feeling like they’re being put on the spot. If I can get a good conversation going about a topic, everyone seems much more likely to actively participate in the class going forward. I also find that providing real world examples or stories that go beyond the standard book material really helps to solidify some of the more abstract concepts and ideas in people’s minds.”
